The House of Culture

The house of culture of the province of Córdoba, is one more space in the city that opens its doors to art.

Previously a mortgage bank and originally a family mansion that for its heyday -late 19th century, early 20th century- represented a construction with a French academic style design.

The building was restored and refunctionalized in April 2012. Pictorial, sculptural, photographic exhibitions, concerts and other cultural artistic activities are held.

As it was a bank, the safe remained as a heritage element of his legacy, which is being restored for display in the space.

As a unique feature of this building, a large oval skylight is located in the central space of the ground floor. To access the upper floor, there is a large semicircular white marble staircase and a freight elevator that, for its time, was the first in the city.

We also show you the Delfino Quirici auditorium, a place where the provincial polyphonic choir rehearses and where concerts are given. This space forms one more alternative, where you can experience the cultural resources of Río Cuarto.
